We're excited to share the launch of our recent work for the Philippine ICCA Project.
One key output of the Philippine ICCA Project implemented by the Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was the establishment of a National ICCA Registry which contains records on pertinent information on Indigenous Community Conserved Areas of the Philippines. Beyond its information value, the registry will be used as a tool to exclude ICCAs from adverse uses that pose significant threats or adverse impacts to their biodiversity and cultural values.
We took on the task of building the Registry and worked closely with all concerned offices to ensure a smooth and painless data flow. In a few short months, we were able to design, build, and develop an intuitive, and responsive platform.
